Journal pages - Feathers

Was playing around in my Dyan Reaveley journal and thought I would share it with you...I started out using a Stabilo pencil in brown on the top and in black on the bottom feathers, this was the first time I have used the Stabilo and I really like how it reacts with water, creates nice shading on my piece.

The first picture is of the whole spread. I started with the Stabilo then using Tombow markers I created patterns inside the feathers. When I had finished with the color, I used a water brush and lightly wetted the color to blend them. When it was dry, I used my white gel pen and a black sharpie to define the patterns a bit more, then lightly wetted the edges and created blended the Stabilo for shadows.
