Spring Time Banner

Yoohoo! Spring is on its way in cold, wet and snowy Michigan, well at least I hope it is. Anyway, with spring in mind, I created this festive Spring Time Banner that could be used for several occasions.

 Supplies -
Multiple colors of cardstock
Gelli printed papers
Blank Page Muse Grungy Circles stamp
Ink pads to match your paper colors
2 different lace dies
Flower dies
Hello wreath die
Assorted leaf/greenery dies
White paper doilies
String
White cardstock

First of all, I want to say that I cut the banners by hand, but if you have a die use it! It would be much easier than cutting them by hand.

I started off cutting the white banner backs from cardstock then cut down the colored cardstock to fit on top of the white back.  I then stamped the white banners with the grungy circles stamp in coordinating colors.

Then, sorting through all of the gelli printed papers I have, I cut many leaves/greenery and flowers to use on the top of the banners along with the lace borders at the top. I also used white doilies in place of the lace borders.

To assemble, take the stamped white banner, place a colored banner over this along with either the lace border or doily, not both. I played with the colors and arrangements until I liked them, then started to glue them in place. I only glued along the top edge of the banners and borders.

I then took the die cut flowers and leaves and began to stack and layer them on top of the banners. When they were in place, I began to glue them in place.

The middle Hello banner was layered with a doily and glued down. I then punched holes in the top corners of each banner for the string to go through.

I now have a finished border to help bring in spring!

Here are the other participants in the hop! have lots of fun checking out all of the great works of art.

  3. Kelly, they all are unique but I have to say my fave is the blue and green one! Love that colour combo and how the wreath and hello pops off the doily. Happy Easter!
