Hello Friends! I am back today with another project using Blank Page Muse Stamps (BPM) from the designer Donna Gray's unicorn set. I have to say, I am not the unicorn type but these images have become some of my favorites to use! BPM stamps are the best to use, high-quality rubber that stamps great every time.
This project came out of the idea of wanting to use the stamps in a different way. I have a new niece and thought what a great idea to make an ornament for her room.
Supplies used -
Unicorn Stamps by Donna Gray
Heart pattern
DAS paper clay
Straw
Tombow markers
Black Paint
Pink Tulle
To create this ornament, you will want to cut out a heart. I just folded a paper in half and cut it our free hand. Then roll out the clay to about 1/4" thickness and roll with a smooth surface item over the top to smooth it out, I used a small glass bottle I had on my table. Lay your heart pattern on the clay and cut around the heart. I used a toothpick then carefully smoothed the edges with a damp finger. Using the straw, punch out the holes to hang the ornament.
Next, stamp your images into the clay and let this dry, it takes approximately 24 hours or so to dry completely. I checked on my heart several times and would turn it over to dry it on both sides.
Then, color your images with markers, and water down the black paint and brush over images. Wipe back the black paint and let dry. When dry, color the images again with the markers to brighten them up a bit. At this point, you can add any kind of embellishments such as glitter, dots, etc. Add the tulle in the holes for the ornament to hang! There's even room on the back for writing a message to the recipient.
That's all, pretty easy and fun ornament to make for any occasion!
Another project using Donna Gray's unicorn stamp set are two cards with alcohol ink backgrounds.
This first card was created with alcohol lift on yupo paper with alcohol inks. The sentiment was stamped and embossed and added to the card. The whole front panel was layer onto black cardstock and then put on a white card base.
The second card has an alcohol ink background then the unicorn and moon are heat embossed in white onto the panel. This card was also placed on black cardstock and then a white card base.
The third project using the unicorn stamps was with Shrinky Dinks to create charms for journals or jewelry! The unicorns were stamped on the Shrinky Dink plastic with Stazon ink in black then colored with Tombow markers and cut out. A hole was punched in the material before it was baked. Just follow the directions on the Shrinky Dinks package for lots of creative fun!
