Happy Mother's Day card and Gamsol coloring

Hello! Popping today to add my Mother's Day Card. This card was created with gamsol and colored pencils. I was so excited to try this method as my coloring skills with colored pencils or markers, leaves a bit to be desired! All of the different ways to blend and mix the colors, I just had a hard time leaving my images looking blah.

Using gamsol with colored pencils really was a game changer for me! I created several images which will be below.

First off, is the card for Mother's Day using the Unity Stamp set My Condolences stamped with Ranger Archival ink in Jet Black. It was then heat set and then using colored pencils, the color was lightly applied and gamsol was used to activate the color. The flowers were then cut out and using foam tape added to a preprinted card. Using Unity Stamp set Mother's Day Daisies sentiment, heat embossed this on the front under the flowers.

My first try with the gamsol and colored pencils was this stamp of mushrooms by Unity Stamps which has been discontinued. I just laid in the color and then used the gamsol and tortillons to move the color around the image.

I then stamped a flower image from Stampendous, which as also been retired.

And for the last projects, I worked on, both were Unity Stamp sets - Special Delivery and Matching Socks. In a moment of weakness, I bought this little mouse and I wasn't sure how I would color him. This was the first time he was stamped and I love it!

There are many videos out there on using gamsol and colored pencils, I just happened to be watching Whitney and Angela on a live demo and they did this technique. I am so glad I watched and then played with this technique. It has been fun and opened up a whole new set of ideas for me!!

This card was entered in the ModSquadChallenge for Mother's Day.
